Anders Sørensen holds an MSc degree in economics from Aarhus University (1993) and a PhD from Copenhagen Business School (1997). During his doctoral studies he was visiting graduate student at University of California, Berkeley. He is Professor of Empirical Economics at the Department of Economics, CBS (2006-present) and at the Rockwool Foundation (2024-present). Previously, he was Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins University, the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Washington DC, USA (2002-2004) and Associate Professor at CBS (2004-2005). He was a member of the Danish Productivity Commission (2012-2014). Anders Sørensen’s research focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship, human capital, and firm performance. His work examines how education, automation, and ICT drive productivity, while also addressing trade, climate, and the economics of entrepreneurship.
