The conference attracts scholars from management, economics, sociology and other disciplines, and addresses core themes in innovation and entrepreneurship, such as open innovation, markets for technology, entrepreneurship, creativity, R&D management, scientific knowledge production, clusters, global innovation networks, institutional, social, and eco-innovation.

DRUID (Danish Research Unit for Industrial Dynamics) was created in 1995 by CBS, AAU and SDU to promote the quality and international visibility of Danish research in innovation and entrepreneurship. Today, the annual DRUID conference is a one of the largest European management conferences, and competes only with the Academy of Management in the USA in attracting the world’s leading innovation and entrepreneurship scholars.

At the DRUID16 conference, 200 senior scholars and 100 PhD students will present 175 research papers, and the high-profile plenary program includes keynote talks by Linda Argote, David Stark, and Michael Tushman. In addition, the conference presents the iconic DRUID Debates, where leading scholars exchange opinions in a heated and entertaining setting. This years’ debaters are Diana Hicks, Karin Hoisl, Ben Martin, Wilfred Mijnhardt, Will Mitchell, Timothy Simcoe, and David Waguespack.  The conference also hands out the prestigious DRUID Steven Klepper Paper Award, the DRUID Best Paper Award, and the Industry and Innovation DRUID Award for Best Paper.
