Department of Organization

Degree Programmes

Research-based teaching is one of the department's primary functions.

The Department of Organization has an extensive programme portfolio. Organization is a traditional field in terms of business economics. The course is beneficial to all students because it centres on fundamental issues in terms of decision-making, coordination, management, staff and the surrounding environment.

The researchers base their teaching and research on theoretical inspiration from business economics, sociology, psychology and anthropology.
This approach makes it possible to provide areas such as human resource management, organizational identity, market sociology, innovation theory, institutional theory and entrepreneurship with valuable research and teaching.

The department has the professional (co-)responsibility of three bachelor's programmes, two MSc programmes (one is taught in Danish, the other in English), an MSc in Business Administration and Psychology specialization programme, an MSocSc specialization programme and an HD part II thesis. The degree programmes involved are:

•    BA in Information Management
•    BSc in Economics and Business Administration
•    BSc in Business Administration and Psychology
•    MSc in Economics & Business Administration – Human Resource Management (HRM)
•    MSc in Economics & Business Administration – Strategy, Organization and Leadership (SOL)
•    MSc in Business Administration and Psychology
•    MSocSc in Human Resource Management

Furthermore, the department is involved in teaching at other CBS programmes.

Several of the department's staff members are programme directors and/or involved in the CBS Executive programme, i.e.:

•    Master of Business Administration (MBA)
•    Master of Technology, Market and Organisation (MBA - TMO)
•    Master of Health Management (MHM)

"Strategy, Organisation and Leadership is an exciting programme, in which students are taught the models needed to handle the dynamics and complexity of organizational processes. The programme provides the students with the knowledge they need to start a career in management, consulting or research." Tor Hernes
