Challenging the Human Sciences

Conference organised by the Human Turn and the Protestantism Network

Friday, December 4, 2015 - 09:30 to 16:00

The aim of the conference is to discuss possible futures for the human sciences. This discussion falls into two parts:

Part 1 (morning) focuses on how the human sciences have already been affected by and responded to present challenges. Speakers are: Professor in comparative political economy Ove Kaj Pedersen (Copenhagen Business School), and Professor in philosophy Sverre Raffnsøe (Copenhagen Business School). This part will be held in Danish.

Part 2 (afternoon) develops concepts and approaches that could allow the human sciences to relate to the world in novel and more multifaceted ways. Speakers are Professor in comparative literature Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht (Stanford University), Professor in media theory and history Claus Pias (Leuphana University). This part will be held in English.

Registration:

Participation in the conference is free of charge. To give the organizers an idea of the audience attending and taking part in the ensuing reception, however, we would like you to register your interest by sending an email to jg.mpp@cbs.dk.
