Professor David Boje acted as guest lecturer in the PhD course Narrative Approaches for Organizational and Communication Research, organized by Associate Professor Anna Linda Musacchio Adorisio from IBC and Professor Anne Marie Søderberg from the Department of Intercultural Communication and Management on 17 – 20 May. Professors Yiannis Gabriel from Bath University and Barbara Czarniawska from Gothenburg University also participated as guest lecturers in the course, which received financial support from the Nordic Academy of Management. Read more about the course on the course webpage.

In conjunction with the course a seminar was held on 17 May with the three guests, Barbara Czarniawska, Yiannis Gabriel and David Boje, where they discussed their research with each other and the audience. Read about the themes that were discussed at the seminar on the event page. On 3 June David Boje participated in a dialogue event with musician Peter Bastian about music and storytelling.

However, the IBC focus on storytelling this spring began even before David Boje’s arrival: already on 2 March, IBC together with CBS Alumni hosted the event Communicating through storytelling - the power of using stories in organizations for CBS/IBC alumni with an interest in organizational communication.

The two speakers at the event, Associate Professor Anna Linda Musacchio Adorisio and Industrial PhD Fellow Anders Kryger, both IBC, tell about their research in the article Why stories matter - also in business, which can be seen on CBS nyheder.
