FDI spill-over on productivity and MNEs
We quantitatively analyze productivity spill-over from foreign direct investments and domestic MNEs. Our sample is a large number of manufacturing companies in Europe (from Orbis/Amadeus). Knowledge about the ultimate ownership of the companies is crucial for these studies.
Economic growth based the Sound Toll Accounts
We quantitatively model economic growth in Western Europe during 16. and 17 centuries based on very detailed trade (originally at the level of a ship) data from the Sound Toll Accounts.
Competition for public contracts and TED data
We exploit the possibility of combining analysis based on the Tenders Electronic Daily Data from the European Commission with state-of-the-art econometric and machine learning methods. In one paper we modelled the probability of receiving only one bid with a range of explanatory variables from TED.
Immigrants, health and the labor market
We analyze various outcome measures for immigrant and (mental) health to learn more about potential policy interventions to increase their labor market participation.
