Professor Oliver Hart receives Nobel Prize 2016 in Economic Sciences

On Monday Professor Oliver Hart  together with his colleague Bengt Holmström received the Nobel Prize in Economics Sciences 2016 "for their contributions to contract theory”. Besides being the Andrew E. Furer Professor of Economics at Harvard University, Professor Hart is Honorary Doctor at Copenhagen Business School, affiliated with the Department of Economics.

In their statement The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences say:Modern economies are held together by innumerable contracts. The new theoretical tools created by Hart and Holmström are valuable to the understanding of real-life contracts and institutions, as well as potential pitfalls in contract design.” Read the full statement here
