Torkil Clemmensen is a professor with special duties in Human-Computer Interaction at the Department of IT Management, Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. His interest is in psychology as a science of design, including human work interaction design.
As chair of International Federation of Information Processing, Working Group 13.6 on Human Work Interaction Design (HWID) 2008-2014, he co-organizes a series of international working conferences on work analysis and usability/user experiences in organisational, human, social and cultural contexts.
He received grants from the Danish Research Agency for Independent Research and the Danish Advanced Technology Foundation.
His PhD is in psychology, University of Copenhagen.
  • Interaction design, social informatics, digital analysis of qulitative data

PhD supervisor: Qingxin Shi 2006-2009 (primary), Hanne Sørum 2007 – (secondary), Ather Nawaz 2009 - (primary), Gitte Skou Petersen 2010 - (primary), Bijan Aryana 2009 – (secondary). PhD thesis assessments: Nikolaus Theodoros Korfiatis (2009) (chair), Minna Kamppuri (2011). Rob Veitch, (2013, chair), and Elina Eriksson, (2013).

I usually supervise 4-5 master thesis per year, in particular about the following topics.

  • User Experience and usability of complex systems
  • The combination of work analysis and interaction design
  • Culture and Human-computer interaction
