PhD defence: Lara Anne Hale

In order to obtain the PhD degree, Lara Hale has submitted her thesis entitled: Experimental Standards in Sustainability Transitions - Insights from the Building Sector

Friday, April 28, 2017 - 14:00 to 16:00

The PhD thesis explores the experimental development of the Active House standard for sustainable building incorporating human well being. In three articles it examines how building experiments are used to commensurate building qualities like comfort; bridge default rules in building design with consumer awareness; and further the co-design of building technology systems. These articles are tied together under the auspice of experimental governance - a synergy of public and private organizations' learnings, adaptions, and guidance - as paving transitional pathways to sustainability.
