Have you not been offered a place at CBS?
CBS has received 15159 applications for 3057 study places. Therefore we have had to reject many applicants this year. That goes for both quota 1 and quota 2. There could be several reasons why you haven’t been accepted into a bachelor programme at CBS. The most common reasons are:
1. You do not fulfil the entry requirements:
You have to fulfil all entry requirements, regardless of whether you apply in quota 1 or quota 2. If you do not fulfil the entry requirements, you will not be admitted.
2. Quota 1 – the entry GPA’s are higher than your GPA:
You will be admitted in quota 1 if your GPA is higher than this year’s entry GPA. You can find the entry GPA’s for all CBS’ bachelor programmes under GPA and number of places 2014
3. Quota 2:
Applicants in quota 2 are assessed on an overall basis. As it is an overall assessment of each application, it very hard to say why you haven’t been admitted in quota 2. The overall assessment includes your GPA, specific exam results and extra-curricular activities done after you have completed your upper secondary exam. For some programmes, a motivational essay is also included as part of the overall assessment. Find more information on the overall assessment and motivational essay in quota 2 here.
Standby
Standby places are places that will only come into play if applicants turn down their offered study places. This means that standby is a kind of waiting list. The standby places are then offered to applicants who have chosen ’standby’ in the application process BEFORE the deadline on 5 July. You cannot apply for a standby place after the deadline. No available study places
CBS has no available study places. If applicants decline the offered study place, the available place will be offered to a standby applicant.

Improve your chances of being admitted next year
If you want to improve your chances of being admitted next year, now is the time to start planning the coming year in order to improve your quota 2 application as much as possible.
In quota 2 CBS also focuses on criteria other than your grades, such as travels abroad, further education and full-time job experience. The first thing you can do is find out exactly what is included in the quota 2-assessment. Read more about that here.
