CBS has a clear strategy focusing on CBS’ role in business and society and a distinct profile based on disciplinary diversity with special focus on Scandinavian leadership, ethics, sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

 
UN PRINCIPLES FOR RESPONSIBLE MANAGEMENT EDUCATION
Since 2018, CBS has been a signatory to the United Nation backed Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) – a global network of almost 600 business schools, who work to promote responsible management education.

TEACHING
CBS Responsibility Day
The first day of school for all new bachelor students, is dedicated to the topic of responsible management. Students are welcomed to CBS by senior management and presented to real-life examples of responsible management which kick starts the Responsibility Day Case Competition. Read more prme.cbs.dk/rd

Curriculum development
Coordinated by the CBS Office of Responsible Management Education, the curriculum development project seeks to understand and anchor responsible management practices in all CBS bachelor programmes and to make these practices more explicit.

CBS Free Case Collection on Responsible Management Education
With responsible management as a common theme, the cases address a number of interdisciplinary subjects, making them suitable for a wide range of courses in business schools and universities. MOOC on Social Entrepreneurship
Through the CBS MOOC series we have the great pleasure to offer free learning opportunities. Currently the MOOC courses include Social Entrepreneurship and Neuromar¬keting, while Leadership in the 21st Century will be offered in 2015. Updates available on Twitter: @cbsCOURSERA.

CBS Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility (cbsCSR)
Founded in 2002 cbsCSR is internationally recognised as a leading academic knowledge hub for CSR, sustainability and business ethics. The centre has more than 40 members along with numerous international guests joining as visiting professors and guest PhD students. Read more cbs.dk/cbscsr

CBS Sustainability Platform
Launched in 2011 the Sustainability Platform engages in research, education and outreach activities to promote and enhance focus on sustainability across CBS. Read more www.cbs.dk/sustainability

CAMPUS INITIATIVES
Buildings
CBS has tendered, jointly with the City of Frederiksberg and the Metro Company supported by Realdania, for proposals from leading architects around the world to expand its capacity by 30-35,000 m2. Although still in the planning phase, the project focuses on sustainable construc¬tion, the buildings’ environmental impact and greening of the surrounding urban open space.
All campuses are accessible using public transportation. Waste from the canteen and offices are sorted and reused. An electrical car is used for inter-campus transportation of goods. Furthermore bicycle pumps are placed in all campus areas in other to make biking easier for both students and faculty.
DIVERSITY

Diversity and Inclusion Council
CBS President Per Holten-Andersen chairs a Diversity and Inclusion Council comprised of six employees and one student representative.

CBS Diversity Day
Almost exclusively arranged by students, Diversity Day promotes awareness among students and faculty on issues concerning diversity and inclusion. Read more: https://www.facebook.com/DiversityatCBS

COLLABORATION WITH BUSINESS
Collaborating with business and society at large is a strong focus in both research and teaching. CBS is a member of the Academy of Business in Society, has many adjunct professors and drives knowledge groups open to NGOs, companies and local authorities. Other examples are:

Thesis match-making
In 2013-2014 CBS has hosted events where companies and master thesis students come together in thesis partnership with the areas of corporate responsibility. Read more: prme.cbs.dk/casematch  

Rio to Roskilde
For two weeks in June and July Roskilde Festival, the second biggest music festival in Europe, becomes a temporary city with 130,000 residents. It represents a perfect laboratory for combining research with the development of business models related not only to the festival’s challenges, but also to sustainability challenges in society at large. CBS Model United Nations
CBS Model United Nations (CBSMUN) works for students to gain a deeper understanding of international issues and their implications for the ongoing development of the global political economy.

Danish Students in Energy Economics
This group of students from CBS and the University of Copenhagen aims to gather students, companies and researchers to discuss future energy solutions in order to fill a gap in the energy debate in Denmark.
