The programme combines business and management studies, political science and international political economy, and international law.
You will get in-depth knowledge of:
- the internationalisation of business and the strategies of transnational corporations, emphasising both their internal management and their international strategies and relations to political institutions and other stakeholders
- theories and analyses of economic, political, and legal aspects of globalisation, providing a strong theoretical background to students' understanding of contemporary changes in world society
- and specific contemporary issues and problems such as the role of public-private partnerships in addressing environmental, social, and human rights problems around the world, the role of business in civil wars and other situations of conflict, and the problems and challenges of creating international business standards, for instance concerning accounting and corporate governance.
Core Skills
The emphasis will be on independent work and developing your analytical skills, with much room for students to choose their own topics for analysis.
The programme strikes a balance between understanding and problem solving. Some courses will deepen your understanding of contemporary developments in the global political economy and your skills in analysing these. Other courses focus on using such skills to develop solutions to specific problems in business and public and non-governmental organisations.
