This elite master’s programme in Advanced Economics and Finance is an analytically based programme with a focus on theoretical relationships and empirical applications.

Applied Relevance
The programme consists of a structured first year with eight advanced courses in economics and finance; you get a deep insight into the underlying theories and methods and you are trained to use these on specific cases and data sets. The third semester consists of electives and can be taken at one of the leading international business schools or universities with which CBS collaborates. In the fourth semester, you complete the programme with a traditional master’s thesis or a combination of a business project and a shorter master’s thesis.

Our courses are taught by professors with particular strong research records and a great deal of experience in the application of recent theoretical developments in practice. You are assigned a local mentor among the professors. The applied relevance and academic level of the programme is continuously developed in collaboration with the programme’s business and academic advisory board.

Career Opportunities
In this programme, you learn to work independently with economic and financial problems and thus develop qualifications to work as key analyst in financial institutions and consultancy as well as the business community in general wherever strong, quantitative financial and economic skills are needed. Some of our graduates may choose to continue in PhD programmes.
