BSc in International Business and Politics

The BSc in International Business and Politics combines the four areas described below. Through projects focusing on real-life problems, you will learn to combine and integrate theory with practical knowledge. In order to develop strong analytical skills, the programme also has courses in statistics and qualitative research methods.
Economics
The economics courses teach key concepts such as supply and demand, consumer preferences, production costs, price determination, employment, inflation, the economic role of government etc. Furthermore, international trade and investment, the balance of payments and currencies and exchange rates are covered.
Business and Management
This field involves core business disciplines such as managerial economics, corporate finance, organisation and strategy. These subjects provide an all-round understanding of ‘the business of doing business’ and teach you the methods and tools for making sound business decisions.
Political Science
The political science courses have a strong comparative and international dimension. You learn how political systems work and are introduced to major theoretical debates on democracy, power, the state, political decision-making etc., along with the major ideologies that have shaped the modern world. There is a strong emphasis on developing your skills for analysing political processes in national and international organisations, national political systems and the global system.
International and Comparative Political Economy
In these courses, you study how states and markets interact in different developing and developed countries. You will consider how market conditions and business strategies influence political relations between states, under which conditions states can cooperate in international economic matters and the roles transnational corporations, nation states and NGOs have in shaping the policies of e.g. the World Bank, the IMF, UN, WTO and the EU.
