BSc in Business, Asian Language and Culture - Asian Studies Programme

The Asian Studies Programme teaches you how to analyse and understand international business in an Asian context. You will look at integrated societal and cross-cultural issues, which are essential for a deeper understanding of the specificity of the Asian markets. The programme also develops your Japanese or Chinese language proficiency. Thus, you will develop your skills in a unique integrated programme.
International Qualifications
Over the course of the programme, you will be equipped to:
• Conduct comparative analyses and examinations of international businesses and organisations and their activities in a dynamic global environment
• Identify internal and external firm specific communication tasks that enhance organisational success
• Formulate goals for Asian related firms and organisations and manage teamwork in groups for the successful implementation of stated goals.
Taking on New Fields
You will become qualified for business and related careers in global and internationally oriented companies working in Asia – in either the private (for-profit and not-for-profit) or public sector. Companies hiring ASP graduates know that they get employees with a global outlook. Graduates go on to become sales managers, product advisors, business and media consultants, area managers, controllers and international liaisons officers.
You will be a part of a small but very active, dedicated group of highly international
students. Beyond your academic programme, which includes lectures, group work and independent studies, you will need to spend about 40% of your time each week studying Chinese or Japanese, since these are not easily acquired languages. We have formal exchange agreements with universities in China and Japan, and you are encouraged to study abroad for one semester.
