BA in Information Management

The core curriculum includes courses in the following fields:
• Information management
• Communication studies
• Organisation studies.
Information Management
After an introduction to basic principles of information management and the related technologies and tools, the field gradually integrates relevant perspectives from communication and organisational areas. The aim is to develop competencies in information management, focusing on the interplay between information and organisational objectives.
The content of the modules includes: key concepts and key models of the fields of Information Management, Information Science, Information Architecture, Information Organisation, information management issues in relation to organisational goals and strategies, value chain and information logistics, etc.
Communication Studies
This field integrates theoretical insight and practical communication skills. You will train your oral and written English in all the courses. Focus is on the use of English in global business environments, computer-mediated communication and development of communication plans and strategies.
The approach is based on analysis of target groups and information users and on transforming informational goals into products and processes.
Organisation Studies
This field contains organisation theory, knowledge in organisations and project management. The purpose is to give you an understanding of contemporary issues and innovations in a globalised and networked environment. The courses focus on examining the nature of a variety of organisations, their structure, goals and culture as well as how different types of knowledge are managed in diverse organisational settings.
