Project title: Leadership in a group of selected lean companies.
Project specification: A multiple case study approach will be used to explore how the leadership style of top managers has been influencing the lean implementation within this selected group of companies. The idea is to recognise the areas characterised by major problems and difficulties and to recommend a conceptual definition of leadership which takes into account the integrated nature of lean systems.
Starting date of the programme: December 2007
Project title: Process Innovation in Supply Chains.
Project specification: The project addresses new ways to innovative processes in supply chain relations, i.e. new initiatives to create shorter lead time, reduce cost and at the same time improve responsiveness, service and value for the supply chain's customers. From practice, research has picked up several best practice cases of supply chain management that may be regarded as innovative ways to design a supply chain. Nevertheless, we know very little of the actual processes of innovation occurring in these supply chains; hence, a central concern for this project. The project is done through the application of complexity theory and qualitative case studies.
Starting date of the programme: January 2008
Project title: Strategic Risk Management in the perspectives of knowledge and value creation.
Project specification: The project explores perspectives of contemporary risk management activities in relation to strategy information and strategy execution. The research seeks to identify how companies attempt to collect, create and communicate risk relevant knowledge to decision-makers and, to what extent and how decision-makers utilise such knowledge when dealing with important decisions under uncertainty. It thus takes a decision-linked stance, with a focus on the impact from implicit and explicit planning assumptions, and also explores how the identification of potential future developments may impact the achievement of organisational objectives.
Starting date of the programme: March 2007
Project titlel: Supply Chain Environmental Complexity - a decision-making approach to measuring complexity of the logistics systems environment.
Project specification: I am working on the theoretical construction of complexity (within business environmental uncertainty), and seek to measure macro-institutional environmental complexity surrounding logistics operations processes. I treat the measurement of environmental complexity as a managerial decision-making problem and aim to solve this using a multi-criteria decision-making methodology.
Starting date of the programme: 1.8.2005
Project title: Inter-organisational governance in a constructivist perspective - the case of partnering in construction projects.
Starting date of the programme: 1.7.2005. On leave from 1 November 2007
Project title: Lean Construction - dismissing fundamentals in order to make it work.
Project specification: Lean construction is a set of ideas on how to control and coordinate the building process. This project proposes that a number of premises in Lean construction are internally conflicting and vague leaving managers with several dilemmas in their work with Lean implementation. The project also considers the influence of the underlying piece rate system on the practical formation of the Lean idea. Performance Measurement and Operations Management: Deconstructing performance measurement in a building process.
Starting date of the programme: 1.9.2005
Project title: Process Value Management - Organisational Flexibility and Cohesion.
Project specification: The study is a continuation of an earlier study 'Process Value Management'. The purpose of the study is to find instructions, methods and tools which enable organisations to avoid a number of the problems, which the former study has pinpointed. The hypothesis is that a methodology can be built by reformulation of the traditional process perspective and inclusion of a number of tools from new concepts and methodologies such as open space, serious play etc.
Starting date of the programme: 1.6.2005
Project title: Evaluering af kvalitetsudviklingsprocesser i sygehuse
Starting date of the programme: 1.1.2002
