Conference at CBS

kci - Organizing for Internal and External Knowledge Creation and Innovation: Looking within or Searching Beyond?

October 30-31, 2008 at Copenhagen Business School
- Center for Strategic Management and Globalization and Department of Innovation and Organizational Economics
Aim of the conference
The conference intends to shed further light on the complex and potentially conflicting choices firms take in order to acquire, exchange, and create knowledge, and to innovate. This theme relates to quite a wide variety of issues relating to the increasing complexity (e.g. cross-national, cross-field, cross-industry) of systems for knowledge creation and innovation. This complexity implies a more intensive and more frequent need to embrace as well as to connect both internal and external source of knowledge in the search for new technological achievements.
We especially encourage submissions addressing issues like: the nature, the structure and the governance of both internal and external acquisition, diffusion, and creation of knowledge; the interactions between internal and external sources for innovation; the strategies adopted to source and develop knowledge found internally or externally; the internal and external mechanisms adopted to create and exchange knowledge and to innovate; the organizations’ adaptation and change to optimize knowledge creation and innovation; the interconnectedness of the intra and openness innovation strategies.
