At the conference there will be a competition for the best dissertation in Business History. The dissertation can be written in any language. Dissertations completed in 2004 through 2005 will be considered. (It is sufficient if the dissertation has been submitted in 2006, as long as the degree will be awarded before the dates of the conference).
The competition will be coordinated by Per Boje, Jørgen Fink and Per Hansen. Those interested in participating should send a copy of their dissertaion in the original language and a short summary in English (up to five pages) to the address below. Additionally, the summary should be emailed to:

Each thesis fulfilling the general criteria outlined above will be evaluated by a scholar with the necessary academic and linguistic expertise.
The judging commitee consists of: John Wilson, Hubert Bonin and Ioanna Minoglou
Four theses selected to be presented in a plenary session at the conference are:
Ben Wubs - UNILEVER BETWEEN RIECH AND EMPIRE - International Business and National War Interests.
Harald Rinde - Contingency and Continuity: The establishment of path dependent organisational patterns in Scandinavian telephony, 1880-1900.
Brita Lundström - Established 1876: History and Corporate Identity in Ericsson
Javier Pueyo - Competitive conditions in Spanish banking, 1921-1974: Collusion, regulation and rivalry.
The four dissertains have been selected based on the academic evaluation and the presentation. The committee will award the best dissertation with a prize of € 500 sponsered by Royal Copenhagen.
