EcoMobility

TCM takes part in the Øresund EcoMobility project that is partly funded by the EU Interreg IV A-Øresund program. The core work lies in the creation of a Logistics and Sustainability Performance Index that should help companies in the Øresund Region to enhance both their environmental and logistic performance.
The Logistics and Sustainability Performance Index is part of the European Union project ‘Ecomobility’. The index is supposed to evaluate the prerequisites for good logistics and the logistics performance as well as the impact and performance of sustainability initiatives in the Øresund Region. It follows the question ‘how can we contribute to a greener development in logistics?’. A generic questionnaire and a rating system from 1 – 5 will be created that companies can use to calculate the index. The index should function as a tool for companies and regions to benchmark from the ‘best in class’ and to identify points of improvements for their own performance. Also, it should enhance the green thinking in the Øresund Region and its cities.
The findings of the study as well as the use of the index should be taught in a course for private and public entities that want to encourage and educate their employees in the relevant fields.

Fehmarn Project

The purpose of the research project is to create a large scale and long term multinational tourism project supported by tourism university faculties which serves as a means of region building in order to develop a mental bridge before the opening of the Fehmarn connection in 2018.
On September 9th a launch seminar was held at Copenhagen Business School. The Seminar sets up the future agenda for the project. Minutes and the three presentations from the seminar can be downloaded below:

Economic Growth in Remote Rural Areas

The project is financed by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries as a part of the research programme: The Agricultural and Food Sector Future Role and Development in a Regional Perspective (Jordbrugs- og fødevaresektorens fremtidige rolle og udvikling i et regionalt perspektiv) .
The project builds on a collaboration with the Center for Forest and Landscape at Copenhagen University and five municipals in Region Mid-Jutland.
The objective of the project is to promote changes in rural areas with the intension of creating economic growth through innovative ways of activating and utilising local landscapes and cultural resources. Focus is on utilisation of local and external competences for generating growth and new jobs in rural areas.
The project will contain case studies in five rural dominated municipals (Norddjurs, Syddjurs, Samsø, Ringkøbing-Skjern og Lemvig) in Region Mid- Jutland. In each area recreation maps will be developed. These maps will contain information about e.g. biking routes, tracking routes etc. and will be developed using Geographical Information Systems (GIS). The maps will be combined with experience economy and planning theory in order to develop different scenarios for the rural areas in question. The focus will be on the coherency between economy, strategy, experience economy and planning with the intension of model building on the cases and theory.
Furthermore, the project will analyse similar experiences from other countries and their use of public participation in regards to the motivation of the strategic perspective in planning. The result of the project will be applicable and relevant for both the involved and other rural municipals.
The results will be disseminated both in scientific and popular articles and through public meetings and at the project end seminar.

Oplevelsesøkonomi og attraktioner på Bornholm (in Danish only)

Intercultural Leadership in the Oresund-region

In contrast to traditional leadership theories, which focus on general individual characteristics, we in this report emphasise leadership as fundamentally a question of the relation between the leader and the situation. A central part of leadership is in this respect related to the leaders’ experiences of work situations and the varying aspects related to human work.
