Services are all around us!

Services have become an integral part of your life. Browsing the Internet, eating at a restaurant, attending a sporting event, or going on vacation all involve interaction with numerous services. Service industries are those that do not produce a tangible product, and these industries are growing in economic importance. The private non-good producing industries account for approximately 70% of total economic activity in the United States. While, in Europe approximately 60% of the annual turnover is attributed to services. These figures tell us that services are vital to the economy and a solid understanding of service fundamentals is essential. This is the background for the new Master of Social Science in Service Management offered at Copenhagen Business School.

How do I enroll?
The general entry requirement to the master program is a bachelor degree within social science. These include, for example, bachelor degrees in economics, law, sociology, political science, public administration, anthropology, psychology, history, and many more.
It is a requirement that applicants have at least 30 ECTS credits from one or more of the following areas: strategy, organization/management, marketing, managerial economics/accounting, or economics.
As the course is taught exclusively in English, a proficiency of the language is required. Admission requires English at the Danish A-level, or EU equivalent. This requirement may be met by successfully passing an accepted English exam, such as TOEFL, IELTS, etc.
Individual assessment of applications is possible. Therefore, applicants without a bachelor degree in social science are encouraged to apply. Emphasis is placed on the applicants’ interest and knowledge of social science.
If you have obtained a Danish serviceøkonom degree you are not eligible for direct admission to the MSc. in Service Management. The serviceøkonom degree entitles you to one year of credit of the Bachelor of Science in Service Management. This means that the three year bachelor program can be completed in two years for serviceøkonomer. The BSc. In Service Management provides direct entry to the MSc. in Service Management.
The program is free of charge for students from the European Union and Nordic countries. Students from other nationalities will have to pay. Books and other supplies are paid by students.
