ERCIS: PhD summer school in design science

The ERCIS (European Research Center for IS) is strengthening its ERCIS network activities by a joint PhD Summer School. CBS -Department of Informatics is a member of this network.I am very happy that we now were able to put this plan to work:
As journals and conferences have taken up the design science stream, such situation offers great potential for PhD students to frame, to improve, and to publish their design-oriented research. The PhD Summer School on Design Science seeks to discuss following aspects against this background:
  • Foundations of Design Science
  • Conceptualizations of Design Science in Information Systems Research
  • Examples of Design Science Studies
  • Design Theory and Practice
  • Philosophy of Design Science
  • Participatory Design
  • Critical Issues in Design Science
  • Framing and Publishing Design Science Research
We invite PhD students from INF and CAICT to participate in the first ERCIS PhD Summer School “Design Science”. They can be in all different stages of their work. It is held from 2009-08-24 to 2009-08-30 along a one-week sailing trip on the Dutch Ijsselmeer (Enkhuizen, only 1hr from Amsterdam-Schiphol). The Summer School is chaired by our ERCIS colleagues Karlheinz Kautz (Copenhagen) and Björn Niehaves (Münster). We still have some few places on the boat and the school available.
The application deadline is 15 June, 2009.
Please find all details in the attached document.
Kind regards,
Karlheinz Kautz
