Professor Mette Mønsted from the Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy received the prestigious award at the annual celebration in Växjö. She received the award, because she is a pioneer in the research field of entrepreneurship, small companies and network. She was also honoured for her long support to and collaboration with Växjö University.

Leadership of attractive research environments
In connection with the presentation of the award, Mette Mønsted held her inaugural lecture with focus on how business schools can improve their ability to lead research environments and create attractive international environments.

- In order to support researchers in the best way possible, it is important to create an attractive environment, where researchers receive administrative help to apply for funding from research committees. It is the responsibility of the management to ensure that academically skilled people, who are willing to create a good research environment for both younger researchers and foreign visiting professors, receive support for research groups and administrative support for applications, says Mette Mønsted.
