Department of Finance
The aim of the Department of Finance (FI) is to produce financial research, teaching and communication of international standard and relevance for Danish society.
The Department deals with a wide variety of financial issues. The Department focuses on the following areas:
- The financing and financial structure of the company
- Optimal management of financial institutions
- Asset Pricing in financial markets
- Financial restructuring
- Optimal incentive structures as well as organisational design based on incentive considerations
- Alternative forms of ownership
- Corporate governance and the market for corporate control
- International finance and international financial markets
- Portfolio theory and asset allocation
- Risk management and insurance
- Household financial decisions
- Pension economics
- Financial regulation and the legal regulation of financial conditions

Mads Stenbo Nielsen receives Best Paper Award

Assistant professor from The Department of Finance receives Education Prize
Assistant professor Mads Stenbo Nielsen received the CBS Education Prize 2011 at a ceremony on April 14.
The prize is awarded to permanent staff at CBS for extraordinary contributions to teaching through courses which are innovative in their organizational approach, organization and realization.
