The research of Professor Walter and his team focuses on theoretical and empirical aspects of entrepreneurial behaviour and innovation processes within firms and industrial networks. He is well known for his empirical work on functions of business relationships and has published widely on supplier-customer relationships and innovation co-operations. In the past the group has concentrated on the person of the entrepreneur and on personal characteristics of innovation champions. Recently Achim Walter's interest has shifted to the organizational level, to influences of different organizational competences and structures on innovation success and on firm growth.
