About the Department

Historical and Present Profile:

The Department of Marketing was founded in 1931 by Max Kjær Hansen. Max Kjær Hansen's, and later Arne Rasmussen's, marketing research won the department international recognition and it became known as "The Copenhagener School."

Teaching:

The department is responsible for three MSc-programmes: EMF, SMC & MCM, and is actively involved in the BSc-programme and MSc-electives. Read more under Study Programmes (on the navigation menu to the left).

The Work Place:

The Department of Marketing employs a total of 46 employees: 35 faculty members, 11 administrative staff, and appprox. 50 part-time external teachers managed by a Head of Department and Department administrator. The staff represents a good mix of young and mature employees, characterised by a strong cooperation across faculty and administrative teams. On this background the department aims to produce research, teaching and services of the very best quality.
The department is located in CBS' modern campus building at Solbjerg Plads, Frederiksberg, in a mix of single offices and small open plan offices. The reception is open Monday - Friday between 09:00 am to 12:30 pm.
