The Department of Marketing (marketing) conducts research in marketing within the following central research areas:

- Consumer Behaviour
- Marketing Communication
- Neuroscience
- Strategic Design and Business Development
- Market Oriented Management
The faculty and administrative staff of the department are primarily employed within the following teaching programmes: The MSc. programmes Economics and Marketing (EMF), Design and Communication Management (DCM),Strategic Market Creation (SMC), Marketing Communications Management (MCM), the BSc. programme (marketing) and MSc. electives. The department is also actively involved in the following programmes: BSc.-Business Admin. and Commercial Law, BSc.-Business admin. and Psychology, BSc. in International Business Communication, MBA, DBA and the CBS Summer School programme.
