The Department of Economics has hithero been named "Institut for Nationaløkonomi" in Danish. The name has now been changed into "Økonomisk Institut". The new Danish name is equivalent to the English "Department of Economics" and is a more precice description of the broad variety of economic research that takes place at the department. Our acronym will be ECON in Danish as well as in English.
