Centre for Language, Cognition and Mentality (LaCoMe)
The LaCoMe-Centre was established January 1st, 2007, as a strategic, multidisciplinary research group within the Department of International Culture and Communication Studies ( IKK ). Under the general heading of “culture and area studies”, the LaCoMe-Centre will focus on the interaction of language, cognition and mentality within the scope of comparative studies of regions and countries of particular interest to Danish business.

Per Durst-Andersen og Søren Brier will give lectures at the international conference Great Expectations - the plasticity of the brain and the neurosciences at the threshold: nature and nurture - and beyondThe theme is the great expectations currently surrounding the neuro-sciences and what the impact of this is for other fields of knowledge. The conference takes place on 3-5 February 2010 and is organised by the Research center GNOSIS, DPU, University of Aarhus in cooperation with LaCoMe. Read more here: www.dpu.dk/greatexpectations .

On Tuesday November 24th Torkild Thellefsen defended his doctoral dissertation: Fundamental Signs and Significance-effects – A Semiotic outline of Fundamental Signs, Significance-effects, Knowledge Profiling and their use in Knowledge Organization and Branding.
