Paper Development Workshop on "Understanding Absorptive Capacity"

The aim of the workshop is to offer a supportive setting for participants to receive valuable feedback on papers in various stages of development, and to offer the opportunity to meet with others who share an interest in absorptive capacity. We seek papers on all aspects of absorptive capacity, and are particularly interested in papers that seek to advance our understanding of organizational absorptive capacity by addressing any of the following themes:
  • Papers that seek to uncover the micro-foundations or individual-level origins of absorptive capacity
  • Papers that focus on the micro-macro dynamics of absorptive capacity, such as the mechanisms through which individual absorptive capacity may aggregate up to the organizational level
  • Papers that address the organizational and managerial antecedents of individual and organizational absorptive capacity, such as incentive systems, organizational structure, and HRM practices
The deadline for submissions is on February 1, 2011 and authors will be notified about the acceptance of their paper no later than February 7, 2011. Participants are requested to confirm their participation by registering for the workshop no later than March 11, 2011.
