Organization, institution, and the creation of public opinion.
My primary research interest is the study of processes and institution that contribute to define the identities and roles of businesses and organizations in modern society. Currently I am studying the impact of media, and especially business journalists, on businesses and organizations, and how the media have changed in recent years with significant consequences for business life and the public sector. In the next few years I will fokus on media and visibility/transparency in the health care sector. Additional research areas are organizational change in the public sector, and the interplay of different types of organized knowledge and organizational change processes: What are the roles of professions, consultants, research, etc. Theoretically I am working with different types of institutional theory, economic sociology, discourse theory, and communication theory.
Teaching interests: Media and business, organization theory, contextual business theory and health policy.
