Organizational learning and adaptation are running themes in my research, which in more recent years has focused on; a) sense-making and sense-giving in organizations, as exemplified in my research with Claus Rerup on crowd safety management at Roskilde Festival, and b) organizational improvisation. Previously I studied innovation and knowledge processes in organizations, a research interest which also materialized in my role as co-founder of the Master Program in Leadership and Innovation in Complex Systems (LAICS), which took off in 2006
From September 1. to June 30 my office hours are wednesday from 2 pm. to 4 pm. This will usually also be the hours where I answer incoming mails regarding administrative issues and handled inquiries about supervision.

Primary research areas

  • Breakdown and recreation of meaning in organizations
  • Crowd Management
  • Improvisation in Organizations
  • Organizational Learning and Adaptation
  • Reputation Management
  • Sensemaking and sensegiving in Organizations
