Academic Profile & Strategy

Research Strategy at INT
  • The strategy for the research at INT is to analyze and understand complex economic and social phenomena that span the domains of traditional disciplines and functional specializations to get a deeper understanding of international business, corporate governance, emerging markets and the Asian Business context.
  • We seek to publish our research results in leading international journals and in books published by leading academic publishers.
  • The three research centers ( ARC, Center for International Business and Emerging Markets, and CCG) are the core units for the research and dissemination activities. Nevertheless, an important objective is to ensure the efficient exploitation of the internal synergies available not only within, but also between the three research centers, and to encourage cooperation and knowledge exchange, including cross-fertilization in joint research projects, seminars, executive training programs and doctoral courses, as well as various types of informal activities.
  • International workshops and conferences will be held on a regular basis with the three research centers as the core organizers of the academic contents. The centers are also the main units for inviting guests to the department as well as for participating in research networks.
  • While synergies are important, the department thrives on diversity of capabilities and research interests. It is therefore important to maintain an open and flexible environment, encouraging entrepreneurial initiatives and promoting individual talent.
  • The recruitment of a larger number of doctoral students is a priority in order to strengthen the research output of the department and more fully exploit the capacity of its senior staff.
  • The department strives to attract and retain Danish and foreign top researchers and to maintain its strong position in the international research community – particularly within core areas.
  • The department seeks to obtain considerable external funding for research activities, both from public as well as private sources
  • The physical surroundings and the administrative services shall facilitate excellent research and teaching
  • We seek a strong synergy between research and teaching
  • The department seeks to develop fruitful contacts with the business environment both for getting inputs to our research and for dissemination of our results and in this way to support a high academic level and our ability to transform academic results to knowledge applied in business practices and public policy.
