Abstract:
In this paper/presentation we develop a taxonomy of organizational interdependencies and illustrate the identified interdependency types through an extended example of an IT department interactions with other units in a heavy engineering firm. We then preliminarily address the issue of developing principles for achieving alignment of interdependencies under different strategic approaches to designing organizations.
