Department of Innovation and Organizational Economics

The Department of Innovation and Organizational Economics (INO) is a strategy-oriented department based on modern organizational economics. The Department research field is the ”organisation of economic activities”.
It is the department’s ambition to contribute to the understanding and development of society’s economic organisation. I.e. how and why activities are organised in markets, companies, industries and other "institutions".
By way of example, the Department examines why many biotech researches take place in small dedicated enterprises and more rarely in large pharmaceutical enterprises, and why some enterprises are strongly diversified while others concentrate on one product.


The department hosts a number of large, externally funded projects for example, user-driven innovation, and hosting centers Biotech Business , Blue Denmark , DRUID .
The department is proud to be home also to the CBS World Class Research Environment in Open Innovation.
The department's researchers teach particular of MSc MIB, and BSc in Business Administration and Psychology , BSc in Business Administration and Organisational Communication , BSc in Business Administration and Commercial Law , BSc in Business, Asian Language and Culture - Asian Studies Programme , Summer School and FT-MBA Programme, and the department offers a number of doctoral courses.
The department has a total staff of some 40 people, including 7 full professors and about 15 assistant/associate professors.
