I am primarily interested in the problems surrounding poverty and development in particular the capabilities approach inspired by Amartya Sen and Martha Nussbaum, and I am, in this connection a member of the Human Development and Capability Association ( www.hd-ca.org ).
I have been involved in two projects in Vietnam, one a home for street children in Hanoi, the other a cultural heritage and poverty alleviation scheme in HueCity. My main area of research weds all these aspects.
