Kerli’s Industrial PhD project is in cooperation with CBS and Center for Responsible Design at Copenhagen School of Design and Academy (KEA). In addition, BESTSELLER, one of the largest fashion companies in DK and Red Cross second hand stores are dialogue partners in the project.
The PhD project’s goal is to explore and define the new field of responsibility for the fashion industry by investigating business models and multi-stakeholder partnerships for developing innovative solutions in the post retail fashion value chain with the goal to prolong the life-cycle of clothes and minimize waste.
In addition, producer responsibility issues will be addressed. The project takes departure from a systems perspective and will focus on industry stakeholders such as fashion producers/retailers, for-profit and non-profit second hand retailers, recycling companies, companies/designers who work with upcycling and downcycling of textiles.
