I am focusing on best practices of sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR), and the challenges for MNCs of implementing sustainability and CSR in supply chains in foreign, primarily emerging and developing markets. With a point of departure in development studies and international business, I draw on theories of political economy and comparative institutional – hereunder legal – theory. Of special interest is the interplay of contractual, communicatory and managerial practices and strategies of MNCs, subsidiaries and suppliers in relation to implementation and governance of sustainability and CSR in supply chains.
