My research interests are generally in the area of the sociology of work, welfare, CSR and qualitative methods.

My ph.d. project investigates how social inclusion is carried out through everyday management in a Danish municipal department. Socially inclusive management concerns managerial efforts to retain people who are in danger of being excluded from the labour market, and to reintegrate people, who are outside of the labour market. This type of management takes place in a grey area of interests and expectations between managers, employees, among colleagues and sometimes also with the involvement of external actors such as job-counselors and doctors. Besides ethnographic fieldwork in the municipality, I also interview managers and employees in small- and mediumsized private companies.

I participate in a research project about Corporate Social Responsibility and Working environment. In this project, I investigate how public policies regarding CSR affect work and organization in small and medium-sized private companies. I particularly study the use of codes of conduct in public procurement. By use of qualitative methods: interviews and observations in companies supplying to municipalities, I investigate how relations between public and private companies influence the internal life in private companies. I am a student at the CBS’ Ph.d. school in Organisation and Management studies but employed by the National Research Centre for the Working Environment.
