Mass media and their role in creating community and producing new spaces are central to my research. Relevant issues in this context place branding and urban governance.
Moreover I am interested in the wide field of creative industries. In this context, I am participating in the four years research project Creative Encounters - the socio-economic organization of Creative Industries with special focus on place, art and culture.
Geographically my research focuses on Germany, especially Berlin, but also Scandinavia. Here I am interested in Danish-Swedish relations within the Øresund area.
