Brett Crawford is a Ph.D. Fellow at Department of Business and Politics and Copenhagen Business School. He received his MBA from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Brett is also currently working as a Visiting Research at the University of Michigan, Lecturer at Rochester College, and Adjunct Professor of Management at Saginaw Valley State University. His research and writing focuses on interests, institutional change, and the intersection of the private and public sectors.
Brett’s dissertation aims to specifically theorize around the processes of propagating interests in institutional change. More specifically, he is working on a network analysis illustrating the development of U.S. chambers of commerce, how they became institutionalized, and how the institution of chambers of commerce has changed in recent decades. Brett then uses an in-depth ethnographic lens to explore how these institutional changes play out in a mid-western chamber of commerce.
