East Asia, Business Civilisations and International Order
How will the international community welcome the second-largest economy, China? With its communist one-party authoritarian model of governance and ambivalence towards a Western-dominated international order, China’s rise has been viewed as both threat and opportunity. This interdisciplinary workshop brings together a team of scholars based in Denmark and the United Kingdom, and aims to provoke debate on this important question. The workshop will explore this from three angles: China and the international order, China’s business culture, and China in the developing world. The workshop provides a true intercultural dialogue though a closing roundtable in Chinese.
