Lecture by Anthony Giddens at CBS!
”The Politics of Climate Change”
The changing climate is different to any other problem ever faced by humanity. If we do not take action, the consequences may be disastrous. Political action on a local, national and international level will have an all-important effect as to whether or not we will succeed in limiting global warming. Giddens argues that we need a coherent policy framework to handle the climate changes. The only source of political solutions is the environmental movements, and their solutions are inadequate. In his lecture, Giddens will not only introduce you to a number of new concepts and ideas, he will also discuss the connection between climate change and energy security in detail.
Anthony Giddens is a former director of the London School of Economics, professor emeritus at Cambridge University and fellow of King’s College. He is the author of more than 30 books and today, he sits in the House of Lords.
