Susana Borrás was born in Spain on 10 April 1967. She has a Master’s Degree in Political Science (Licenciatura) (1991) from the Autonomous University in Barcelona, and a PhD in Political Science (1996) from the European University Institute, Florence, Italy. Susana Borrás was then employed at Roskilde University, Denmark from August 1996 - August 2007, of which the latest 6 year as associate professor. She has been a guest Professor at the Division of Innovation at Lund Technical University and CIRCLE, Lund University, Sweden from January 2007 to June 2007 and Associate Professor at Copenhagen Business School, Denmark since September 2008. From summer 2008 she began a new 3 year affiliation with CIRCLE.

Susana Borrás has headed several externally research projects funded by the Danish Research Council and the EU: “Theorising the Politics of European Integration”; “Second generation research agenda on the European system of innovation”; “The New Governance Instruments of the European Union” (on-going). Susana Borrás is the author or co-author of 7 books and edited volumes, 18 articles in refereed journals, 19 chapters in edited books.
