Invitation to CBCI Lecture - 100 Years of Chinese Songs

Mr. Chen is the Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Literature and Art Circles (CFLAC) and the Deputy Director of the Committee of Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. He is also the former Vice-Minister of the Chinese Ministry of Culture. He is one of the most famous lyric writers in China and has a great contribution to the field and the society.
During the lecture, Mr. Chen will give a detailed historical account of the development of Chinese songs in China, including the germination of New Music during 1900s to 1920s; the New Music Movement in the 1940s; the Flourishing Period of 1960s and Retrogression during the Cultural Revolution as well as 30 Years’ Re-booming since the Reform and Opening up of China.
