Beside its other activities, the center also serves as a focus for the coordination and development of the American Studies programs offered at CBS.
Why American Studies?

The BA in American Studies (60 ECTS points) is a three year program containing the following courses:
- Major issues in the social history of the Americas I
- Major issues in the social history of the Americas II
- Government, politics and policymaking in the Americas
- Markets of the Americas
- Society, Cultures and Identities
- Popular Culture and Art.
The American Studies Graduate Program (30 ECTS) covers a one year period and contains the following courses:
- Politics and Society in the US and/or Latin America
- Cultures and Identites
- Markets in the Western Hemisphere .
