The Center is located at the Department of International Culture and Communication Studies, while the center's affiliates are also drawn from the Center for Business and Politics and the Department of Intercultural Communication and Management. Other researchers are more loosely associated with the center, but also contribute to its work. Carl Pedersen, formerly Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen, is Adjunct Professor at the Center.

Alongside its research work, the center serves as a focus for the coordination and development of the American Studies programs offered at CBS. Most of the affiliated members of staff teach on the BA and CLM American Studies programs.
