Administrative functions
Petra Schubert is a professor for Enterprise Systems at CBS. Before coming to CBS, she held the chair for Business Software at the University of Koblenz-Landau in Germany. Before, she was a professor for E-Business at the School of Business at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland and director of the Institute for Information Systems.
She holds a Ph.D. and a master’s degree in Information and Technology Management from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. In addition, she received the CEMS master’s degree from the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS MIM). She spent her exchange term at ESADE in Barcelona, Spain. During her Ph.D. studies, she stayed one year as a visiting scholar at the Haas School of Business (University of California at Berkeley) in the USA. She later received her "venia docendi" (Habilitation) from the University of Basel, Switzerland. She was cofounder and board member of the Ecademy, the Swiss national competence network for E-Business and E-Government.
Prof. Schubert authored one of the first books on "Virtual Communities" and was a regular mini track chair for this topic at HICSS and AMCIS. She has written and co-edited several books, including "Digital Success" , "Successfully Planning and Realizing E-Business" , "Fulfillment in E-Business" , "Procurement in E-Business" , and "E-Business Integration". She is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Enterprise Information Systems (IJEIS), the Electronic Markets Journal and the Journal of Advances in Enterprise Systems. Her research interests comprise Enterprise Systems, the use of ICT in SMEs, Customer Relationship Management, and the personalization of Web applications. Together with Prof. Ralf Wölfle, she developed the eXperience methodology of writing Case Studies on Enterprise System implementations.
