Study places in demand

An increase of 14 % in the first priority applications to CBS' bachelor programmes

13,560 applications have been submitted with a wish for admission to one of CBS' bachelor programmes. 4,919 of these applications are first priority applications, which is an increase of 14 % compared to last year. BSc in Business Administration and Information Systems has experienced an increase in the applications of 40 % and both BSc in Business Administration and Commercial Law and BSc in Business Administration and Management Science have seen an increase of 30 %.

Sven Bislev

- The high number of applications means that we have to disappoint a great deal of applicants. We are not able to offer study places for more than 50 % of them, says Sven Bislev, Associate Dean of Education. He continues: - The programmes are sought after because they provide the students with a possibility of taking a business-oriented approach to a wide range of courses. Moreover, the employment prospects are good.
Add to this the large year groups of young people and initiatives to encourage the young to begin their studies immediately after graduation from upper secondary school.

65 extra study places

65 more study places have been created compared to last year to meet a part of the expected high number of applications. There are extra places in BSc in International Business and BA in Intercultural Market Communication. Two programmes, which have experienced a huge increase in the number of applicants.
- Unfortunately, we cannot increase the number of places further. In order to admit more students, we need the opportunity to appoint more researchers to ensure that our programmes are based on research, says Sven Bislev.
CBS will send answers to all applicants by post on Friday 29 July. Applicants can expect a response on Saturday 30 July, and CBS Admissions Office will be open on that day to answer questions.
