09.02.2012
Two of the Ministry of Education's EliteForsk travelling scholarships go to young PhD students from CBS
A travelling scholarship of DKK 300,000 is awarded to this year's recipients of this year's EliteForsk award.
Network regulate the world economy
One of the recipients is Lasse Folke Henriksen, 29, from the Department of Business and Politics. He is working on the PhD project ” Elites without borders? The global connections of expertise in the regulation of the world economy".
- The world economy is experiencing a lot of turbulence, which has profound consequences for the populations in the world. The rules that govern the economy are being laid down in international expert networks that operate in the cross field between market, state and civil societies. What is the driving force behind these networks and who are the central players? These are some of the issues that I am focusing on, says Lasse Folke Henriksen.
He was already interested in the topic when he focused on the World Bank as a player in terms of development policies in his master's thesis.
Boosting the career in New Zealand and Canada
28-year old Oana Brindusa Albu from the Department of Intercultural Communication and Management is conducting research in a new research direction, which is called communicative constitution of organisation (CCO). It is a combination of language philosophy and organisation studies. The aim of her PhD project is to examine how organisational transparency - both as a goal, ideal and practice - can be defined and contributes to shaping the interaction between a particular organisation and its stakeholders.
Oana Brindusa Albu has already planned her first stay in New Zealand, and after that she is going to Canada.
- The exchange stays at Waikato University and the University of Montréal will have great impact on the development of my PhD project, collection of data, production of academic articles and my academic career. Both environments are internationally acknowledged and leading within the field of CCO, she says.
This year's EliteForsk Awards will be presented by HRH Prince Joachim and Minister for Education Morten Østergaard on Thursday 9 February at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen.
The EliteForsk AwardsThe EliteForsk Awards are presented once a year in order to reward and render the efforts of Danish researchers visible. This year, five researchers are receiving the large EliteForsk award, while 17 PhD students receive an EliteForsk travelling scholarship.
